What parents are saying...

"AJAH Foundation offers an excellent program for kids. I was delighted when my daughter was given the opportunity to be a part of the summer and fall programs. She always liked art but the nurturing provided by the instructors was instrumental in taking her to the next level. She looked forward to every class and learned so much from A.J. Brown and Sonia. The instructors are patient and great at helping students develop their skills. Thanks to AJAH, my daughter sold her first piece of art at 11 years old! My younger daughter is counting down until she’s old enough to participate in the program. Our family is very grateful for AJAH Foundation and the amazing work they are doing for the children."

Thanks again for the opportunity. I think my daughter is engaged but I see she prefers a faster pace learning or doing more interesting projects. She does look forward to what is ahead and hopefully is gaining an appreciation of art. Gillian Harriott / Jasmine

Shak’s Hope Sickle Cell Foundation

"I wanted to share how The Ajala Foundation has supported Shak's Hope.Shak's Hope Foundation for Sickle Cell Awareness is the brainchild of my daughter Shakira Martin. It was started January 2016. We had our first event in July 2016 at the Ajala Art Show their first. We were invited to set up a table to spread awareness about Sickle Cell. All the vendors who took part gave a percentage of their sales to the cause. Shakira just came out of the hospital and was present at the event. August 3, 2016 Shakira lost her battle due to complications of blood clots to her lungs as a result of having Sickle Cell disease. Shak's Hope Foundation has continued to bring awareness preserving her legacy by education, helping to improve the quality of life of those living with Sickle Cell in South Florida and Jamaica. Shakira always said I want to provide the feel good the smallest things matter when living in chronic pain of an invisible disease".

Shakira Martin founded this charity to raise awareness, educate, and improve the quality of life for those living with Sickle Cell Anemia. During her lifetime, Shakira was a fierce and exemplary advocate for living our best lives to the fullest. It was our honor to be a small part of her journey in 2016 in partnership with the AJALA Art Show visual & performing artists. This international organization remains close to our hearts and we invite you to learn more and donate generously. As a 501 (c) (3), public charity, your financial gifts to Shak’s Hope Sickle Cell Foundation are tax deductible. As a member of our shared community, the benefit of your participation is immeasurable
